Google has expanded AI Mode with a suite of travel planning and booking features, including flight price tracking, hotel reservations, and loyalty points display. The updates move the conversational search tool beyond information retrieval into active trip management.

Users can describe their desired travel dates and destinations in natural language, and AI Mode will surface options with current pricing pulled from more than 300 airlines and travel sites. If users prefer to wait for lower fares, they can ask AI Mode to monitor prices and receive an email notification when costs change for their selected route and dates. Flight price tracking is now available in more than 180 countries.

For hotel bookings, users can describe their trip and preferences to receive a curated list of properties alongside reviews and key details. When a user selects a hotel, AI Mode surfaces a “Continue on Google” option connected to integrated booking partners. From there, users can choose a room, review policies, and complete the transaction through Google Pay.

The hotel or booking platform retains responsibility for the reservation and any customer service. Hotel booking is rolling out in the U.S. in English with ten partners at launch: Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

Google also added loyalty currency support, allowing users to query flight and hotel options using their points or miles balance. Users can specify their rewards program and travel dates conversationally and see redemption costs for matching options. The feature is available globally.

The updates position AI Mode as a direct competitor to dedicated AI travel agents, a category that has seen growing investment from platforms including Expedia and Google’s own travel properties.
