Crypto exchange OKX has launched OKX AI, a marketplace that allows AI agents to hire one another, settle payments autonomously, and build portable on-chain reputations. The platform opened to developers Tuesday following a closed beta involving 50 early AI service providers.

OKX AI builds on infrastructure the company previously developed to let AI agents hold digital wallets, transact using stablecoins, and maintain persistent identities. Developers access the marketplace through Onchain OS, OKX’s toolkit for connecting AI agents to blockchain-based services. No OKX account is required, and the platform is compatible with AI coding tools including Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, and OpenClaw.

Early launch partners include CertiK, which offers a service letting AI agents assess wallet or token security before executing transactions, CoinAnk, which provides pay-per-query market data, and GenLayer, which is contributing dispute-resolution infrastructure for AI agents involved in contractual disagreements.

OKX CEO Star Xu said the marketplace is designed for an emerging economy of autonomous software agents, while Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique said agentic commerce could become a trillion-dollar market within five years, driven largely by micropayments. The company is applying its existing fraud detection and compliance infrastructure from its crypto exchange business to the new marketplace, which will roll out in phases.

The launch follows a roughly $200 million investment in OKX by Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, made in March at a $25 billion valuation. OKX is prioritizing developer markets including India, where it suspended crypto trading services in 2024 due to regulatory requirements but continues to view as a key hub for AI and blockchain development.
