Baidu unveiled a suite of artificial intelligence products built on the OpenClaw framework, expanding its push into agent-based computing. The company introduced a range of AI agents, informally referred to as “lobsters,” designed to perform multi-step tasks across desktop, mobile, cloud, and smart-home environments.
The agents can execute workflows such as video editing, research, presentation creation, and e-commerce actions, operating across multiple applications and devices. Baidu said the ecosystem includes tools such as the DuMate desktop assistant, the RedClaw mobile platform, and DuClaw cloud services for deploying agents without local hardware configuration.
The initiative reflects growing momentum behind OpenClaw, an open-source agent framework gaining traction in China. Major technology companies including Alibaba and Tencent are also developing agent-based products as they seek new growth areas.
Baidu said the technology could evolve into an operating system layer that connects services and devices more seamlessly. However, the company acknowledged that the agents remain in early stages, with limitations in reliability and execution accuracy as development continues.
