Key Notes
- Claude Dashboards connects to business data and is in beta on paid plans.
- Motion creates editable animations for Team and Enterprise users.
- Enterprise administrators must enable both features in Artifacts settings.
Anthropic is giving Claude two new ways to present work: live dashboards connected to business data and short, editable animations. Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion launched in beta on October 8, extending the chatbot beyond written answers and static charts.
Dashboards is available on paid plans, while Motion is limited to Team and Enterprise. Together, they target a familiar office workflow: understanding what happened in the business, then explaining it to colleagues without assembling every chart and slide by hand.
Dashboards That Connect to Business Data
Claude Dashboards connects to data platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks and Snowflake, as well as services including Salesforce. Users ask a question in ordinary language, and Claude builds a dashboard that can stay current as the underlying data changes. Anthropic’s announcement positions it around quick, exploratory analysis.
The interface exposes the query behind a number and shows when a chart was refreshed. Those details matter because a graph can look convincing while answering the wrong question. A sales comparison, for example, needs a consistent date range and a clear definition of which opportunities count.
Anthropic says dashboards can also pass into existing analytics tools for deeper investigation. The practical role is a faster starting point for analysis, rather than proof that a conversational interface can replace every established reporting process. Teams still need to decide which metrics should be treated as authoritative.
Motion Turns Reports Into Editable Animation
Claude Motion turns prompts, reports and charts into short animations, such as a quarterly-results explainer or product walkthrough. Users can revise the result in an editor or through another request, then export it as an MP4 file. The animation is built from code, with editable text, numbers and timing.
That makes Motion different from a video model generating new footage: Anthropic says it does not create synthetic scenes or AI-generated people. Its appeal is in explaining existing material. A moving chart can reveal a sequence more clearly than a slide, but it still needs accurate labels and enough context for viewers to understand the comparison.
Who Can Use the New Claude Features?
For now, both additions carry a beta label. Enterprise administrators must enable Dashboards and Motion in the organization’s Artifacts settings; they are off by default. A subscription that includes a feature therefore does not necessarily mean it is already available inside a managed workspace.
The same announcement takes Claude Docs, Slides and Design out of beta and makes them available across plans, including Free. That does not extend free access to the two new tools: Dashboards retains its paid-plan requirement, and Motion remains a Team and Enterprise feature.
A Different Approach From ChatGPT’s Interactive Answers
The launch follows ChatGPT’s Intelligent UI, which adds interactive diagrams, maps, charts and small tools inside answers. As we reported, users can operate those interfaces directly or request a specific tool. OpenAI’s feature focuses on making a response something the reader can explore, rather than simply read.
Claude’s new products put more emphasis on connected workplace data and reusable presentation material. The overlap is visual output, but the jobs differ: a dashboard helps investigate a changing dataset, while an animation packages an explanation for an audience. For teams choosing between them, the useful test is whether the result connects to the right information, remains easy to check and fits the way colleagues actually work.
