OpenAI expects annualized revenue to reach or exceed $70 billion by the end of 2026, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Growth in its enterprise business is expected to drive much of the increase.
The same report put its September-end run rate at roughly $50 billion, consistent with earlier coverage. Reaching $70 billion would represent approximately 40% growth from that starting point, rather than confirmation it has already reached that level.
Axios attributed the earlier $70 billion estimate to investors adjusting OpenAI’s figures for comparison with Anthropic’s treatment of cloud partner sales.
The figures were shared with investors during fundraising discussions, Bloomberg said. OpenAI is seeking $30 billion or more at a $1.4 trillion valuation before new capital, according to its reporting. The company declined to comment.
OpenAI’s enterprise push includes Presence for deploying business agents. Annualized revenue projects a shorter period’s sales across a year; it does not measure completed-year revenue or profitability. The September figure and December target describe different points in time, and should be read alongside the accounting differences.
