AI startup Lovable has launched a mobile version of its no-code app builder on both Apple and Android platforms, allowing users to create applications using voice or text prompts. The release comes as Apple tightens enforcement of App Store rules around dynamically generated code, reshaping how so-called “vibe coding” tools operate.
Lovable’s app enables users to start projects on mobile and continue on desktop, with AI agents handling development tasks after receiving input. The system also sends notifications when builds are ready, positioning the product as a flexible tool for capturing and executing ideas in real time. Unlike traditional coding environments, the app focuses on generating working websites or web applications through natural language instructions.
The launch follows recent actions by Apple, which blocked updates or temporarily removed apps such as Replit and Vibecode over concerns about downloading and executing unreviewed code. Apple’s guidelines prohibit apps that can alter their functionality dynamically without oversight, citing security risks and challenges for app review.
To comply, Lovable and similar tools have shifted execution of generated apps to web browsers rather than running them inside the app itself. This adjustment allows developers to continue offering AI-driven coding features while adhering to platform policies.
The emergence of mobile AI coding tools reflects growing demand for simplified software creation, even as platform restrictions shape how these capabilities are delivered.
