Anthropic has launched Claude for Google Workspace in public beta, bringing its AI assistant into Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. The add-on is available on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans and lets users edit files through a sidebar.
Claude can rewrite and restructure documents, build spreadsheet formulas and charts, and create slides that follow an existing deck’s layout and theme. It reads the open file and selected text, cells, or slides, then applies changes directly without requiring users to copy content between apps.
The default mode asks users to approve edits before they are applied. An alternative setting allows ordinary changes to proceed automatically. Anthropic’s setup guide says edits appear under the user’s name in Google’s version history, where they can be reversed.
Separate Docs, Sheets, and Slides connectors, also in beta, let users create and edit Google files from Claude chat. On supported setups, a document opens beside the conversation for simultaneous editing. Access follows the user’s existing Google sharing permissions.
The release extends Anthropic’s push into everyday office work, following its small-business workflows launch. The add-on is listed in the Workspace Marketplace; administrators can deploy it across an organization, while Team and Enterprise owners must enable the separate connectors before members connect.
