OpenAI plans 28 days of daily improvements or usage resets for Codex and ChatGPT Work, its team member Tibo announced on X on October 4. The pledge comes as the company responds to users asking for simpler products and more efficient use of their allowances.
Each day, the team will either release an improvement that is noticeable and relevant to most users or provide what Tibo called a “full reset.” The announcement does not promise a reset alongside every update or a free month of paid subscriptions.
In an earlier post, Tibo said the team was concentrating on simplification, efficiency that enables more usage, major features and new models. He acknowledged feedback that users wanted the experience to become easier to use.
The team has used resets before. As AIstify reported on September 1, OpenAI reset paid Codex and Work subscribers’ limits after fixing eight bugs that had caused unexpectedly high token consumption.
OpenAI’s pricing documentation says Codex and ChatGPT Work share usage, with consumption depending on the model, task complexity and context. The new pledge sets a daily delivery target, while leaving the specific features, reset schedule and account eligibility unspecified.
