Robinhood is expanding deeper into agentic AI with new products that allow AI systems to trade stocks and make payments on behalf of users.

The company announced support for AI agent trading accounts alongside a new virtual credit card designed specifically for AI-driven transactions.

AI Agents Can Now Execute Trades

Under the new system, Robinhood users can create separate accounts and dedicated wallets for AI agents operating on the platform.

These agents can analyze portfolios, review analyst research, evaluate sector exposure, and generate trading strategies using Robinhood’s infrastructure.

The AI systems can also execute stock trades directly — though only using funds allocated to their dedicated wallet balances.

Robinhood said users will receive notifications for all agent-driven trades and, in some cases, may need to approve transactions before execution.

The company added that suspicious activity will trigger internal fraud reviews and dispute-resolution processes.

According to Robinhood VP of Product Abhishek Fatehpuria, customers increasingly want to connect their own AI models and tools directly into financial platforms.

“We’ve heard a lot of demand from our customers to bring their own tools, LLMs, and agents, and connect them to Robinhood,” Fatehpuria said.

MCP Integration Powers Agentic Finance

Robinhood said the new tools integrate with its Model Context Protocol (MCP) infrastructure, allowing AI systems to interact more directly with investment workflows.

Through MCP connections, AI agents can:

  • Analyze portfolio concentration risk
  • Review sector exposure
  • Scan analyst notes
  • Identify investment opportunities
  • Execute trades automatically

The initial beta launch only supports stock trading, though Robinhood said it plans to expand support to options, crypto, futures, event contracts, and prediction markets.

Robinhood Adds AI-Powered Virtual Credit Cards

The company also unveiled a new virtual credit card designed for AI agents to make payments autonomously.

The card allows users to connect AI systems to Robinhood’s banking MCP server, enabling agents to complete purchases within predefined spending limits.

Users can:

  • Set monthly spending caps
  • Require approval before payments
  • Monitor all agent activity directly inside the app

The feature is currently available for holders of the Robinhood Gold Card, while the upcoming Robinhood Platinum Card will receive similar support later this year.
