Anthropic has retained Wilson Sonsini to assist in preparing for a potential IPO that could occur as early as 2026, according to the Financial Times. The firm is reportedly working through internal readiness procedures to support what may become one of the largest public offerings in the AI sector.

The company is also exploring a fresh funding round that could value it at over $300 billion. Anthropic had previously raised $13 billion in September, when its valuation reached about $183 billion. While the firm has been talking with investment banks, it has not yet selected an underwriter. Wilson Sonsini has served as an adviser to Anthropic since 2022.

This move comes amid heightened activity among major AI players preparing for public markets. OpenAI, currently valued at roughly $500 billion, is reportedly exploring its own IPO path, though no listing timeline has been announced. The developments highlight growing investor appetite and mounting stakes as AI firms brace for a potential wave of public listings.
