Anthropic is preparing to raise approximately $10 billion in a new funding round, potentially valuing the company at $350 billion. If completed, the round would nearly double Anthropic’s valuation from a recent $183 billion round, highlighting investor appetite for leading AI model developers.

Reports from the Wall Street Journal and Reuters cite Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and Coatue Management as expected anchor investors. The financing could close in the coming weeks, though terms and final size may still adjust.

Investor and Strategic Partnerships

Anthropic’s funding wave builds on a history of large commitments from major tech and asset management firms. Microsoft and Nvidia together plan to invest up to $15 billion, supporting Anthropic’s purchase of $30 billion in Azure cloud capacity powered by Nvidia chips. Existing backers include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Fidelity Management & Research, and Iconiq Capital.

Amazon Web Services remains Anthropic’s primary cloud partner, while Microsoft is supplying additional large-scale compute resources. The company also counts Google, through Alphabet, as a strategic investor, demonstrating the overlapping competition and collaboration among major cloud providers in the AI sector.

Anthropic has also partnered with Accenture in a multi-year deal to train employees on Claude AI and integrate Claude Code tools into enterprise development workflows, highlighting the company’s focus on expanding adoption in corporate environments.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella emphasized the importance of cooperative infrastructure development, stating that durable capabilities, rather than winner-take-all narratives, will drive meaningful local and global impact.

AI Adoption and Market Recognition

Claude has become a widely adopted tool among professional advisors, ranking 8.10 out of 10 in the 2025 T3/Inside Information Software Survey among AI platforms used for research and decision-making. The platform, alongside OpenAI’s ChatGPT, is increasingly relied upon as a thought partner and strategic research assistant in professional workflows.

GIC’s participation aligns with the firm’s broader interests in wealth technology, following investments in Altruist and Ascensus, a retirement and savings account provider.

Infrastructure and Growth Plans

Anthropic plans to use the new funding to expand cloud computing capacity and optimize model performance. Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips are central to its AI infrastructure strategy, while partnerships with Microsoft and AWS ensure multi-cloud flexibility.

Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI executives led by CEO Dario Amodei, Anthropic expects to reach break-even by 2028, potentially achieving profitability faster than OpenAI. The company has raised tens of billions to date and is widely anticipated to pursue an IPO as early as 2026.
