TON Tech has launched AI-powered agents capable of executing onchain transactions within the TON blockchain ecosystem, marking a step toward autonomous financial activity integrated into messaging platforms. The rollout enables users to automate decentralized finance (DeFi) actions directly through Telegram, which has nearly one billion users globally.

The system introduces “agentic wallets,” where AI agents can manage dedicated funds and perform tasks such as token transfers, swaps, staking, and portfolio rebalancing. These agents operate within user-defined budgets and do not access private keys, a design intended to reduce custodial risks while enabling automation. The development reflects a broader shift from AI as a passive assistant to an active participant in financial transactions.

The launch comes amid increasing competition in agent-driven finance. Platforms like Gemini are also exploring AI-enabled trading tools that connect models such as ChatGPT and Claude to user accounts. TON’s approach differs by embedding functionality directly into Telegram’s interface, potentially lowering barriers for mainstream users.

The move also aims to revive activity on the TON network, where daily active addresses have declined from peak levels in 2024. By simplifying complex DeFi workflows, TON Tech hopes AI agents will increase engagement and transaction volume.

If adoption grows, the initiative could expand into broader use cases such as automated payments and recurring financial tasks, positioning Telegram as a hub for AI-driven financial services.
