Tech entrepreneur and biohacker Bryan Johnson said advances in artificial intelligence and experimental medicine could make functional human immortality achievable by 2039. Johnson, who is known for spending millions of dollars annually to slow his biological aging, believes AI will play a central role in extending human lifespan beyond current medical limits.

Johnson argues that AI systems will soon outperform human physicians by continuously analyzing biological data, predicting disease risk, and optimizing personalized treatment plans in real time. He describes AI as a future “chief physician” capable of shifting healthcare from reactive treatment to preventive and predictive care. Johnson already applies elements of this approach through constant biometric monitoring, experimental drug protocols, and AI-assisted health analysis.

He says the convergence of AI diagnostics, regenerative medicine, and personalized therapies could significantly delay aging and reduce mortality. However, Johnson acknowledges substantial risks, including increased cancer rates and unforeseen side effects from aggressive interventions. He characterizes these challenges as engineering problems rather than fundamental biological limits.

Medical experts and critics caution that such approaches may not be safe or scalable and raise ethical concerns about access and inequality. Johnson maintains that rapid experimentation is necessary, framing radical longevity as a technological challenge that AI could help solve within the next two decades.
