Adobe has introduced Photoshop, Adobe Express and Acrobat as native integrations inside ChatGPT, bringing its creative and productivity tools to the platform’s more than 800 million weekly users. The launch extends Adobe’s work in agentic AI and conversational interfaces, allowing users to edit images, create designs and work with documents by describing tasks in natural language.
David Wadhwani, president of digital media at Adobe, said the goal is to make creativity accessible to everyone by combining Adobe’s tools with ChatGPT’s conversational interface. Users can initiate actions simply by typing the name of the app and a request. ChatGPT then surfaces the appropriate tool and guides them through edits or design tasks.
The rollout builds on Adobe’s earlier work on conversational creation and its Model Context Protocol. The company recently introduced features such as Acrobat Studio, AI Assistants for Photoshop and Express, and a preview of an AI Assistant for Firefly. These efforts aim to streamline creativity by making complex editing tasks available through simple text prompts.
Features Across Photoshop, Express and Acrobat
The new integrations allow ChatGPT users to access many core features:
- Photoshop enables conversational image editing, adjustments to brightness and contrast, selective edits and creative effects such as Glow or Glitch.
- Adobe Express supports browsing templates, customizing text and images, animating designs and producing shareable content without leaving the chat.
- Acrobat allows users to edit PDFs, extract text or tables, merge or organize documents, compress files and redact sensitive information.
Users can perform quick modifications within ChatGPT or hand off work seamlessly to full desktop applications for more advanced workflows. Adobe said the integrations bring its tools to a broader audience, including users who may not have worked in its ecosystem before.
Pricing and Availability
Photoshop, Adobe Express and Acrobat for ChatGPT are free for all ChatGPT users starting today on desktop, web and iOS. Adobe Express is also available on Android, with Photoshop and Acrobat support for Android expected soon.
Adobe’s move comes as ChatGPT continues expanding its native app ecosystem. OpenAI recently introduced an Instacart integration that lets users plan meals and purchase groceries directly within ChatGPT. The company also announced Apps in ChatGPT, a new capability that embeds third-party applications directly in conversations, with a developer preview of the Apps SDK already live.
