At CES 2026, Lenovo introduced a new personal AI, Lenovo Qira, designed to provide continuous intelligence across devices and platforms. The system-level AI will appear as Lenovo Qira on Lenovo devices and Motorola Qira on Motorola smartphones, creating a single intelligence that moves with users across PCs, tablets, wearables, and mobile devices.
According to Dan Dery, VP of AI Ecosystem at Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, Qira represents a shift from app-based AI toward ambient intelligence that is “continuously and naturally” present. The AI is context-aware, understands user intent, and anticipates needs across tasks without requiring active invocation.
Cross-Device Intelligence
Lenovo Qira operates on three core principles: presence, actions, and perception. Presence ensures that Qira is accessible through voice commands, dedicated keys, or a persistent interface pill, providing suggestions proactively or quietly remaining in the background.
Action capabilities enable the AI to execute tasks across devices, coordinate apps, and perform offline operations without requiring users to manage each step. Perception combines cross-device data, including documents, interactions, and memories, into a fused knowledge base that respects user privacy and consent, supporting contextual decision-making over time.
Core Experiences
Lenovo Qira introduces experiences designed around real user workflows:
- Next Move: Offers contextually relevant suggestions and anticipates subsequent actions.
- Write For Me: Assists with composing emails, notes, and documents, adapting to tone and intent.
- Live Interaction: Enables real-time collaboration using video and screen-sharing, maintaining AI awareness of visual and verbal cues.
- Catch Me Up: Summarizes activity during absence to maintain continuity.
- Pay Attention: Provides transcription, translation, and meeting summaries for seamless recall of decisions and discussions.
For creative workflows, Creator Zone on PCs offers focused generative AI experiences for image and video editing with minimal distraction.
Privacy and Partner Ecosystem
Lenovo Qira is designed with privacy at its core, relying on hybrid AI that balances on-device processing with secure cloud services. The system integrates with partner technologies for expanded functionality: Microsoft Azure for cross-device coordination, Stability AI for private text-to-image generation, Notion for contextual knowledge access, Perplexity AI for guided information exploration, and Expedia for travel-related insights.
The AI will roll out on select Lenovo devices in Q1 2026 and expand to supported Motorola smartphones, with over-the-air updates for existing Lenovo AI Now users.
Lenovo Qira’s cross-device intelligence reflects a broader trend in personal AI, aiming to make interaction more seamless and integrated across hardware ecosystems, while ensuring user control, privacy, and security remain central to deployment.
