Sparkli, a startup founded by three former Google employees, is using generative AI to create interactive learning experiences designed for children aged 5 to 12. The app moves beyond text and voice-based AI tools by combining audio, video, images, quizzes, and games into guided learning “expeditions.”

Founded last year by Lax Poojary, Lucie Marchand, and Myn Kang, Sparkli was inspired by the founders’ experiences as parents struggling to engage their children using traditional AI assistants. The platform allows kids to explore predefined topics or ask their own questions, with AI generating a full interactive experience in about two minutes.

Sparkli focuses on subjects often underrepresented in schools, including financial literacy, design thinking, and entrepreneurship. The company hired experts in education and pedagogy early to shape its content and address safety concerns, including restrictions on sensitive topics.

The startup is piloting Sparkli in schools serving more than 100,000 students and has tested the app in over 20 schools. Sparkli raised $5 million in pre-seed funding led by Founderful and plans to open consumer access by mid-2026.
