Ashley St Clair, the mother of one of Elon Musk’s children, has filed a lawsuit against xAI, claiming that its AI tool Grok generated sexually explicit deepfake images of her on social media platform X. The complaint, filed in New York on Thursday, alleges that users directed Grok to create nonconsensual sexualized depictions, including one image placing St Clair in a swastika-patterned bikini.

xAI has responded with a counter-suit, claiming St Clair violated its terms of service. The lawsuit further alleges that the company retaliated against her by demonetizing her X account while allowing Grok to generate additional images. X has not publicly commented on the legal filings.

St Clair’s attorney, Carrie Goldberg, said the case seeks to hold Grok accountable and establish legal boundaries to prevent AI tools from being weaponized for abuse. The suit highlights growing concerns over the misuse of generative AI to produce nonconsensual content, adding to the broader scrutiny of xAI, which Elon Musk recently said he was unaware of any underage explicit content generated by Grok amid global regulatory investigations.
