Meta announced the appointment of Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman. She previously joined Meta’s board in April and resigned in December, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

In her new role, Powell McCormick will serve on the management team and advise on strategy and execution. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said her experience in global finance and extensive international relationships make her well-suited for the role.

Powell McCormick previously served as deputy national security advisor under President Donald Trump and as a senior official in the George W. Bush administration. She spent 16 years in senior leadership at Goldman Sachs and most recently worked as an executive at BDT & MSD Partners.

Her appointment follows other recent hires from the Trump administration, including Curtis Joseph Mahoney as chief legal officer. Former President Trump publicly praised the selection, calling Powell McCormick “fantastic” and “very talented.”
