Apple announced its annual App Store Award winners on Thursday, spotlighting the best apps and games of 2025. Visual planner Tiimo — which turns tasks into structured plans using AI-powered time estimation — earned the title of iPhone App of the Year. Pokémon TCG Pocket took top honors as the iPhone Game of the Year.

AI capabilities were visible across many award recipients. The iPad App of the Year, Detail, leverages “Auto Edit” AI to automate silence removal, zoom cuts, and captioning in videos. Cultural Impact winner StoryGraph uses machine learning to provide personalized book recommendations based on reading habits, while Be My Eyes employs AI to interpret real-world imagery for blind and low-vision users. The Apple Watch App of the Year, Strava, includes an AI assistant that converts workout data into actionable insights.

Apple also recognized top apps across Mac, Vision Pro, Apple TV, and its Apple Arcade gaming service, along with Cultural Impact winners promoting accessibility, creativity, and inclusivity.

The showcase reinforces Apple’s expanding investment in AI. The company is preparing a major upgrade to Siri powered by a custom version of Google’s Gemini AI — a multibillion-dollar partnership expected to support Apple Intelligence features while Apple continues advancing its own models.
