Doist, the company behind the popular to-do app Todoist, has launched Todoist Ramble, a new AI-powered voice-to-tasks feature. Ramble allows users to speak their tasks naturally, and the app automatically organizes them, capturing details like deadlines, priorities, durations, and assignees. Users can also give real-time updates while speaking, such as changing a due date or confirming task completion.
Ramble runs on Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash Live model via Vertex AI, which transcribes speech and generates tasks in real time. Doist says audio is not stored or used for AI training, and the app is SOC2 Type II certified.
The feature was beta-tested with 150,000 experimental users, generating roughly 290,000 sessions. Success rates for task creation rose from 40% to 62%, and the feature drove upgrades to paid plans. Ramble is now available across iOS, Android, desktop, and web in 38 languages. Beginner users have limited sessions, while Pro and Business subscribers enjoy unlimited use. Shortcuts and widgets make the feature accessible from home or lock screens.
Its launch joins a growing set of AI productivity tools, including Google’s Gemini-powered Gmail features that summarize and prioritize emails, and SwitchBot’s AI MindClip, which records conversations and converts them into tasks and summaries.
