Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang revealed that the company’s Blackwell AI chips are now being manufactured in Arizona, shifting part of its GPU production from Taiwan to the United States. Huang said the move followed a request from President Donald Trump to repatriate semiconductor manufacturing for national security and economic growth.
The Arizona-made Blackwell wafers, produced with TSMC, mark a key milestone for Nvidia as it deepens its role in U.S. technology infrastructure. Huang also announced a $1 billion partnership with Nokia to build 5G and 6G base stations using Nvidia’s new ARC system, which integrates the company’s Grace and Blackwell GPUs.
At Nvidia’s GTC conference in Washington, Huang emphasized the company’s importance to U.S. leadership in AI, quantum computing, and telecom technology. Nvidia projects $500 billion in GPU sales between its Blackwell and upcoming Rubin chip generations.
