Stock Farm Road (SFR) and Utopai Studios have formed a 50-50 joint venture, Utopai East, to develop AI-driven infrastructure for film and television production. The partnership combines SFR’s capital and industry expertise with Utopai’s technology, workflow, and production capabilities.
Utopai East will co-produce content and expand access to Korean intellectual property for international audiences. Production will initially use existing infrastructure, with the first content expected next year. The joint venture aims to enhance efficiency, lower costs, and provide creative tools for filmmakers without replacing human talent.
The project aligns with SFR’s broader strategy, including a planned 3-gigawatt AI data center in South Korea, which will support AI-driven production across entertainment and other industries. The venture will focus first on Korean content, with plans to expand into other Asian markets, including Japan, China, and Thailand. Funding comes from SFR investment vehicles, global sovereign and institutional investors, and industry partners.
