Integral AI is expanding into Japan to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can transform industrial robotics and manufacturing automation. The Silicon Valley startup was founded by former Google researchers Bad Tarifi and Nima Asgharbeygi.
Integral AI develops models designed for automated systems such as industrial robots and autonomous vehicles. The company has collaborated with Denso since 2021 to train robots to learn tasks by observing human demonstrations. The next phase aims to enable robots to respond to natural language prompts, such as instructing a machine to perform a new task without explicit programming.
Japan represents a strategic testing ground due to its leadership in industrial robotics. Companies including Fanuc and Yaskawa Electric account for a large share of the global robot supply chain.
Integral AI plans to raise about $10 million to scale its technology ahead of the planned release of its Genesis model later this year. The system aims to enable robots to continuously learn new skills without overwriting previous knowledge, supporting more adaptable physical AI systems.
