Harmattan AI said it raised $200 million in a Series B funding round led by Dassault Aviation, valuing the French defense technology company at about $1.4 billion less than two years after its founding in 2024.
The company develops autonomy and mission-system software for defense aircraft. Under the partnership, Harmattan will help Dassault integrate embedded artificial intelligence into future generations of Rafale fighter jets and military drones, with a focus on sovereign and scalable deployment.
Harmattan has previously received validation from the French and British ministries of defense. The new capital will support product expansion into additional defense domains and scale manufacturing for platforms used in drone interception, electronic warfare, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
The company said it secured a multi-million-dollar contract from a NATO government in 2025 for the delivery of AI-enabled small drones. Harmattan is also expanding its U.S. operations and plans to showcase its technology at an international defense exhibition in the Middle East.
The latest round follows $42 million in earlier funding from investors including Atlantic, FirstMark, Motier Ventures, and Sisyphus Ventures.
