Google said it is expanding its AI education tools by offering free SAT practice exams powered by its Gemini models. Students can prompt Gemini to generate a full SAT-style practice test, which is then graded automatically. The AI analyzes results, highlights strengths, flags weak areas, and provides explanations for incorrect answers.
The company said it partnered with education providers including the Princeton Review to ensure the practice questions closely reflect the format and difficulty of the official SAT. The tool is designed to give students access to exam preparation without requiring paid tutoring or test prep courses.
Google’s move adds to the growing use of generative AI in education, particularly for personalized learning and assessment. The company has been expanding Gemini’s role in classrooms, offering tools that help teachers brainstorm lesson ideas, build lesson plans, and customize learning materials.
Earlier this year, Google also introduced a Gemini-powered feature that allows educators to create podcast-style audio lessons aimed at improving student engagement. Together, the tools signal Google’s broader effort to position Gemini as a core platform for both student learning and teacher support across K–12 and higher education.
Other major AI firms are also expanding their presence in education. OpenAI recently launched its Education for Countries initiative to support national education systems, while Anthropic partnered with Teach For All to provide AI literacy training and Claude access to educators in more than 60 countries.
