Chinese company Ant Group has launched LingGuang, an AI-powered tool for creating mini-apps and interactive content from text prompts. Released last Tuesday, the app reached 1 million downloads in just four days and surpassed 2 million installs by Monday, according to the developers. This growth outpaced OpenAI’s ChatGPT and video generator Sora, which took five days to reach the same milestone.

LingGuang allows users to quickly create simple, personalized applications in about 30 seconds. Examples include calculators for tracking car savings or activity generators for children. Beyond mini-apps, the platform supports 3D modeling, interactive charts, animations, and other graphics. A standout feature, the “AGI Camera,” can analyze and edit images and videos in real time.

The app is available on iOS, Android, and web platforms.

The app’s rapid adoption briefly overwhelmed its servers. Three days after launch, the mini-app creation feature broke due to heavy traffic, but it was quickly restored. LingGuang’s speed and versatility, combined with its user-friendly AI tools, contributed to its viral growth in China.

In mainland China’s App Store, LingGuang ranked #1 among free utility apps and #6 overall among all free apps.
