Bumble Inc. announced new AI-powered features aimed at improving user profiles and facilitating offline connections. The updates include AI Profile Guidance, AI Photo Feedback, and Suggest a Date.
Profile Guidance delivers step-by-step suggestions for bios and prompts, helping members craft engaging profiles. Bumble reports that nearly 60% of users with strong bios see higher mutual conversation engagement. Photo Feedback, currently available in the U.S., provides real-time recommendations to select the most authentic and dynamic images.
Suggest a Date, now being tested in Canada, simplifies expressing intent to meet offline. The feature reduces uncertainty in conversations, helping members signal readiness for in-person dates.
Vivek Sagi emphasized that the tools address common pain points, allowing members to present themselves authentically, communicate intentions clearly, and increase the likelihood of meaningful relationships.
The updates also reflect competitive pressures, as rival Tinder is piloting its own AI feature, Chemistry, to learn user interests and improve match recommendations amid declines in paying subscribers.
