Amazon is expanding Alexa Plus into its Music streaming service, enabling new generative AI capabilities for subscribers on all tiers. Starting today, users in the Alexa Plus Early Access beta can access the AI assistant within the Amazon Music app on iOS and Android. The integration supports complex music queries, allowing listeners to search for songs using partial lyrics, film or TV placements, or contextual details they may not fully recall.
The AI features also include deeper metadata insights, with the ability to provide chart history, festival appearances, and explanations of song themes. Alexa Plus can recommend music based on mood, era, instruments, or specific artists, while excluding unwanted genres or performers. Amazon says the system connects loosely phrased requests to relevant results, offering more intuitive discovery than traditional search.
The feature update underscores Amazon’s push to differentiate its streaming service with AI tools that enhance user engagement. The company continues to test Alexa Plus as it positions generative AI as a key part of its consumer media strategy.
