OKX has introduced a native AI layer to its OnchainOS, opening its wallet and decentralized exchange infrastructure to autonomous AI agents. The upgrade allows developers to program agents capable of executing trades, initiating payments, analyzing markets, and managing wallets across more than 60 blockchain networks.
The system supports three integration paths: AI Skills for natural language interaction, MCP connectivity for LLM frameworks including Claude Code and Cursor, and a full Open API for direct RESTful control. The infrastructure is built on OKX’s existing wallet ecosystem, which serves more than 12 million monthly users and processes over 1.2 billion API calls daily.
OnchainOS enables agents to query balances, broadcast transactions, route trades across 500+ DEXs, and execute pay-per-use transactions via the x402 protocol, with zero gas fees on OKX’s X Layer. The company says the platform is designed for reliable autonomous operation, offering sub-100 millisecond response times and 99.9% uptime.
This development follows broader industry trends, such as CoinMarketCap unveiling an AI agent market intelligence suite with MCP, x402, and skills for Claude Code and Openclaw, delivering real-time crypto insights to autonomous systems.
