Google is enhancing its travel offerings with AI-powered tools designed to simplify trip planning and bookings. The company is expanding its Flight Deals tool globally, allowing users in over 200 countries to find affordable destinations using AI. Flight Deals analyzes user input on location, dates, and preferences to present the best airfare options in real time.
Additionally, Google’s Canvas tool in AI Mode can now organize entire travel plans. Users can create a trip itinerary in the Canvas side panel, pulling information from Google Search, Maps, hotels, reviews, and other online sources. The system allows for iterative planning, offering trade-offs such as proximity to restaurants or attractions while comparing hotels and activities. This feature is available on desktop in the U.S. for users enrolled in AI Mode Labs.
Google is also broadening agentic booking capabilities to all U.S. users. AI Mode can now make restaurant, event, and wellness reservations based on preferences such as date, location, and cuisine. The company plans to expand the system to allow full flight and hotel bookings, enabling users to compare schedules, prices, amenities, and reviews through a single AI-assisted interface.
Another recent development highlights Google’s AI expansion in shopping and checkout experiences, with AI chat and smart checkout tools rolling out to enhance online retail.
