Figma is expanding its operations in India with a new office in Bengaluru, aiming to deepen engagement with developers and extend adoption of its AI-powered tools. The San Francisco-headquartered company already serves a large Indian user base remotely, but the local office will focus on sales, marketing, and community initiatives.

Founded in 2012, Figma has grown as a browser-based collaborative design platform, now reaching 13 million weekly active users worldwide. India represents its second-largest market after the U.S., with users in 85% of the country’s 28 states and a local community of 25,000 Friends of Figma members. Top Indian customers include CRED, Swiggy, Zomato, Infosys, TCS, Airtel, and Myntra.

Figma is positioning itself as a tool for both designers and developers, particularly with features like Figma Make, which allows users to generate working web applications from natural-language prompts. India has been the largest market for Figma Make, with over 800,000 prototypes created so far. Feedback from Indian users has also influenced product updates, including improved code-export features.

The Bengaluru office is part of Figma’s global expansion strategy, joining offices in Tokyo, Singapore, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, and São Paulo, as the company seeks to integrate design and development workflows across international markets.
