Disney is preparing to expand Disney+ with AI-powered user-generated content (UGC) and interactive features, CEO Bob Iger said during the company’s Q4 and full-year 2025 earnings call. The update will allow users to create and consume short-form content derived from Disney intellectual property, enhancing engagement on the streaming platform.
Disney’s expansion also includes game-like features, developed through its partnership with Epic Games, though the deal primarily covers Disney IP usage on Epic’s platform rather than in-app gaming. Iger emphasized that AI-driven content creation will be carefully managed to protect Disney IP, noting ongoing discussions with unnamed AI companies to ensure secure deployment.
These moves signal Disney’s push into interactive and AI-enhanced media, blending streaming, gaming, and generative AI capabilities. While Disney has not provided a timeline for the feature rollout, the company frames these updates as the largest product and technology changes since Disney+ launched in 2019, potentially positioning the platform as a hub for AI-powered creative experiences.
