Crypto.com said it has received ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, becoming the first digital asset company to meet the international standard for artificial intelligence management systems. The certification focuses on AI governance, transparency, and risk controls, areas drawing increased attention from regulators and institutional investors.

Chief information security officer Jason Lau said the framework embeds security, privacy, and regulatory alignment into how AI systems are developed and operated. The move comes as global regulators push for standardized oversight of AI, particularly in financial services where automated decision-making and data usage face tighter scrutiny.

CEO Kris Marszalek said the certification supports Crypto.com’s strategy of expanding AI across its product ecosystem. The company has recently launched AI-focused tools, including software development kits, data services, and its AI agent platform ai.com, introduced in early February. The platform allows users to deploy autonomous agents for tasks such as trading, portfolio management, and workflow automation.

Rivals are also moving quickly. Coinbase recently unveiled wallet infrastructure designed to support AI agents operating autonomously. The trend highlights growing competition as crypto platforms position AI as a core driver of automation, compliance, and long-term growth.
