Apple Inc. has again delayed the rollout of its redesigned, AI-powered Siri, according to a report by Bloomberg. The updated digital assistant was previously expected to launch with iOS 26.4 in March but will now be introduced more gradually, with some features pushed to later updates.
The report said Apple plans to release parts of the new Siri experience in a May iOS update, while more advanced capabilities may not arrive until iOS 27, expected in September. The delays stem from internal testing issues that forced the company to slow deployment.
Apple first announced plans for a more capable Siri alongside its Apple Intelligence platform in 2024. The revamp is intended to make Siri more conversational and context-aware, similar to large language model chatbots that have gained widespread adoption across the tech industry.
Unlike standalone chatbot apps, the upgraded Siri is designed to function as a system-level assistant across Apple devices. As previously reported that the assistant will be powered by Google’s Gemini models, reflecting Apple’s reliance on external AI partners for core language capabilities.
