Alibaba has launched Accio Work, a new agentic AI platform designed to automate complex business operations for small and medium-sized enterprises. The system, introduced by its international commerce division, functions as a plug-and-play “AI taskforce” capable of handling multi-step workflows without requiring coding or setup.
The platform deploys specialized AI agents across different business functions, enabling tasks such as operations management, data processing, and workflow coordination. Alibaba said the system is designed for enterprise use cases, distinguishing it from general-purpose AI tools by focusing on structured, high-value tasks.
Accio Work incorporates strict controls for sensitive actions. Operations involving financial transactions, payments, or access to private data require explicit user authorization, reflecting growing concerns around AI autonomy and security.
The launch follows Alibaba’s broader push into agentic AI, including the recent introduction of its Wukong platform. The company is increasingly focusing on AI systems that can execute tasks rather than simply generate responses.
