Amazon has launched a new AI-powered feature for Fire TV, allowing users to jump to specific moments in movies by describing the scene to Alexa Plus. The tool builds on the Prime Video X-Ray feature and supports thousands of titles by recognizing scene details, character names, and notable quotes.

Users can request scenes using descriptions like “the card scene in Love Actually” or quotes such as “where Joshua asks, ‘shall we play a game?’” in WarGames. The feature leverages Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude AI models to locate the correct scene even if the movie title is not mentioned.

Currently, the feature is limited to indexed scenes from movies purchased, rented, or available through Prime Video, with plans to expand coverage to more scenes and TV shows. Amazon says the tool is designed to speed up content discovery and reduce reliance on external platforms for scene-specific viewing.

This update is part of a broader trend of AI integration in video streaming, similar to other recent innovations in AI-powered media search and content discovery.
