ElevenLabs has introduced Music v2, a major upgrade to its AI music generation model designed to improve vocals, instrumentation, arrangement quality, and multilingual performance.

The new model powers three products across the company’s ecosystem: ElevenMusic for creators, ElevenAPI for developers, and ElevenCreative for brands and commercial content teams.

Alongside the launch, ElevenLabs said it is lowering pricing for both Music v1 and Music v2 by up to 50% for API customers and up to 40% for self-serve ElevenCreative users.

More Complex Music Generation

According to the company, Music v2 can now handle significantly more complex compositions than earlier versions. Tracks can shift across genres, sustain dense lyrical delivery, and integrate sound effects while maintaining musical coherence throughout the composition.

The release also introduces improved inpainting tools that allow users to regenerate only specific sections of a song, such as a bridge or chorus, without changing the rest of the track.

Another major update is support for section-by-section composition. Instead of generating isolated clips, users can now build full songs progressively, moving from intros and verses to choruses and bridges while preserving continuity across the track.

ElevenLabs said multilingual performance has also improved, with better lyric generation, vocal consistency, and arrangement quality across a growing number of supported languages.

Built for Creators, Developers, and Brands

The company is positioning Music v2 as infrastructure for different types of users.

For musicians and creators, ElevenMusic acts as an AI-powered studio for generating and remixing tracks from lyrics, moods, or reference songs. Developers can access Music v2 programmatically through ElevenAPI, while brands and enterprise teams can use ElevenCreative to produce commercially licensed music for advertising, branded content, and video projects.

ElevenLabs said the platform is designed to support both creative experimentation and production-scale commercial workflows.

Focus on Licensed AI Music

ElevenLabs emphasized that Music v2 is trained exclusively on licensed data and cleared for commercial use, meaning generated tracks can be deployed without sync licensing fees or additional clearance processes.

The company also pointed to recent licensing collaborations with Believe as part of what it described as growing alignment around rights-respecting AI music development.

Competition in AI Music Intensifies

The launch comes as competition accelerates across the AI music market, where companies are racing to build production-ready systems capable of generating commercially viable audio rather than short experimental clips.

Music v2 reflects a broader shift in the industry toward tools that offer finer creative control, longer-form composition, and enterprise-ready licensing models for media production teams and developers.

The release comes as ElevenLabs continues to expand rapidly beyond AI voice generation. The company recently surpassed $500 million in annual recurring revenue and added major investors including BlackRock and Nvidia, underscoring growing enterprise demand for AI-powered audio and voice technologies.
